Research Collaboration: Evaluating the Music Engagement Program for people living with dementia and


In collaboration with ACACIA (the ACT Consumer and Carer Mental Health Research Unit based within the Centre for Mental Health Research at the Australian National University), Dr Amelia Gulliver and Dr Georgia Pike are running a trial to evaluate the impact of a music outreach intervention for residents of a care facility who are living with mild to severe dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The project aims to improve residents' quality of live, wellbeing, and symptoms of depression and anxiety. We will also be working with care facility staff to evaluate the program's acceptability, feasibility and sustainability. The intervention involves 8 weekly sessions of social singing and music outreach with the residents and assisting staff members, facilitated by Dr Pike. View the full project overview:
